Indonesia Starts DEAL 2026 to Speed Up Digital Growth

Indonesia has launched the Digital Ecosystem Alignment, or DEAL 2026, to bring different parts of the country’s digital sector under one shared program. The initiative was introduced by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs in Jakarta on June 23, 2026. It brings together government bodies, businesses, universities, investors, startups, MSMEs, communities, and regional administrations.

Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid said the program is intended to strengthen cooperation across Indonesia’s digital sector and make sure digital growth supports wider economic benefits. The program has three main goals: speeding up digital change, improving productivity, and protecting the long-term health of the digital ecosystem.

Through DEAL 2026, the ministry and its partners introduced eight cooperation packages. These cover areas such as telecommunications connectivity, digital consumer protection, startup development, artificial intelligence, digital inclusion, and logistics cost efficiency. Some early projects include the use of Internet of Things technology for farmer groups and fish cultivators in Sleman, Banjarnegara, and Lamongan.

The initiative also includes practical AI training for 100 to 150 MSMEs in Wonogiri and Banyuwangi. Other planned activities include the DARA feature to help reduce gaming addiction risks among children and an Ecosystem Dashboard to serve as a national digital data reference point.
