Remittances sent to Jordan rose to $2.4962 billion in the first half of 2026, an increase of 14.3 per cent from the same period last year. Preliminary figures from the Central Bank of Jordan also showed that inflows reached $434.1 million in June alone. The June total was 13.3 per cent higher than a year earlier.
The United Arab Emirates was the largest source of incoming transfers during the six-month period, accounting for 21.2 per cent of the total. The United States contributed 19.6 per cent, followed by Saudi Arabia with 17.7 per cent, Qatar with 10.3 per cent and Kuwait with 5.5 per cent. Other countries together represented the remaining 25.7 per cent.
Money sent abroad by workers in Jordan also increased. Outbound remittances reached $162.6 million in June, up 17.7 per cent from the same month in 2025, while the first-half total rose 15.5 per cent to $969.3 million. The two sets of figures track earnings sent home by Jordanians working overseas as well as transfers made by expatriate workers based in the Kingdom.
Egypt received the largest share of outbound transfers at 41.5 per cent. Bangladesh followed with 11.8 per cent, while the Philippines accounted for 4.8 per cent and Palestine for 4 per cent. All other destinations combined made up 37.9 per cent of the outward total, showing that Jordan’s remittance connections extend across the Middle East, Asia and other regions.
