Azerbaijani athletes collected 18 medals at an international rowing, kayaking and canoeing tournament in Poti, Georgia. The national team secured 10 gold, five silver and three bronze medals, finishing second in the overall standings. Competitors delivered strong results across individual, doubles and relay events.

Ivan Vorobyanski won three gold medals in the single kayak races over 200, 500 and 1,000 metres. Giyas Ahmadov and Tengiz Gagnidze added two more gold medals by winning the 200-metre and 500-metre double kayak events. Their performances placed Azerbaijan among the tournament’s leading teams in kayaking.

In canoeing, Fakhri Sadigli and Vagif Mustafazade earned silver medals in both the 200-metre and 500-metre double events. Sadigli also finished second in the 200-metre single canoe race. 

Mustafazade collected bronze medals in the 200-metre and 1,000-metre individual competitions.

Azerbaijan won every race it entered in the academic rowing section. Sabit Abdullayev, competing in the 2008–2009 age group, and Mahammad Hasanov, representing the 2010–2011 category, won their respective 1,500-metre single sculls races. Isabala Dadashzade and Ismayil Shirinov took gold in the 1,500-metre double sculls.

The relay team of Sadigli, Rustam Asgarov and Mustafazade added another bronze medal. The combined results secured Azerbaijan’s second-place finish and showed the team’s strength across several rowing disciplines and age groups.
