KUALA LUMPUR, 16 October 2025 – As a follow up to its 2024 signing of manufacturing agreement, ITRAMAS Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (“ITRAMAS”) and Wuxi Longmax Technology Co., Ltd. (“Longmax”), the world’s largest manufacturer of solar combiner boxes, today announced the commencement of their joint manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia.
This strategic collaboration marks a key milestone under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) Flagship Catalyst Project involving the development of a 1GW Hybrid Solar Power Plant Integrated with a Renewable Energy (RE) Industrial Park in Johor, of which UEM Group Berhad’s green industries arm, UEM Lestra Berhad, is developing in collaboration with ITRAMAS. The NETR 1GW Project not only promotes energy transition but also aims to develop a robust supply chain locally for RE technologies, with the vision of making Malaysia the central hub for such technologies in ASEAN. Longmax will play a critical role in supplying components for the NETR 1GW Project.
To support local content development and the establishment of high-value manufacturing capabilities in Malaysia, ITRAMAS has been engaging with internationally recognised manufacturers in the RE industry. This Phase 1 joint development marks Longmax’s first international headquarters and manufacturing facility, which will assemble solar combiner boxes for the NETR 1GW Project and supply to over 1,000 global customers across 70 countries, including major players like Siemens and Samsung, which are Longmax’s largest customers.
This initiative supports the Malaysian Government’s goal of building a robust local RE supply chain, reducing reliance on imports, and positioning Malaysia as a hub for high value RE and energy transition technologies in ASEAN.
The announcement was made during a ceremony to commemorate the commencement of the joint manufacturing facility held at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2025 and was officiated and witnessed by YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah bin Mohd Nasir, Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Malaysia.

By localising production of critical solar components like combiner boxes, we are reducing import dependency while creating skilled jobs and driving economic growth. This milestone reflects our long-term vision under the NETR to establish Malaysia as a regional hub for clean energy technologies and industrial excellence. We thank the Ministry for their continued support and look forward to seeing this facility deliver real impact for the nation and the region.”
Henry Yang, CEO of Longmax, remarked:
“This partnership with ITRAMAS marks an important milestone for Longmax as we establish our first international headquarters and manufacturing facility in Malaysia. The country’s strong commitment to renewable energy and industrial growth under the NETR provides the ideal foundation for our expansion in the region. Through this facility, we aim to localise advanced solar component manufacturing, strengthen regional supply chains, and better serve our global customers. We look forward to contributing to Malaysia’s vision of becoming a leading hub for renewable energy and clean technology in Southeast Asia.”
