ASIC Offshore & Marine Sdn Bhd Signs Mou With The Largeststate-Owned Shipyard in Indonesia

Kuala Lumpur, 8 January 2023 – ASIC OFFSHORE & MARINE SDN BHD(ASIC)announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT DOK DAN  PERKAPALAN KODJA BAHARI (PESERO) (PT DKB)thus entering an exciting phase of a strategic partnership.

The MOU signing, which was held at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Jakarta, Indonesia earlier today, was witnessed and endorsed by The Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, YB Senator Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Minister of Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Foreign Affairs together with Indonesian counterpart The Honourable Minister for Public Works and Housing Dr. Ir. M. Basuki Hadimuljono and The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MITI) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and facilitated by the Embassy of Malaysia, Jakarta together with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to the agreement, both ASIC and PT DKB will be able to fully leverage their expertise in their respective fields and work together more closely towards their common goal of capturing a bigger market share and more opportunities mainly in the areas of Oil & Gas and Maritime Industry specializing in Design & Engineering, New Building, Repair & Maintenance and Ship Management, in the short and long-term projects.

Mr Jazli Rahimi, Group Managing Director of ASIC OFFSHORE & MARINE SDN BHD said “ASICis strongly confident that the cooperation with PT DKB will further strengthen ASIC’s footprint in the Asia Pacific. We are looking towards a long-term economic development where doors will be opened for Malaysian companies to carry out businesses in Indonesia via ASIC. Our aim ultimately is to become the market enabler by providing a platform for Malaysian companies to enter the Indonesian market.”He further added “The collaboration with PT DKB, a BUMN (State Owned Company) company as our strategic partner in Indonesia shall enhance our strong brand image and presence in the local industry with the estimated contract value of RM500 million projected within the next two years.
