UWC Reports Record Quarterly Profit as Semiconductor Demand Grows

Malaysian precision engineering company UWC Bhd reported record fourth-quarter earnings, supported by stronger demand from semiconductor customers. Net profit reached RM37.60 million for the quarter ended July 31, 2026, an increase of nearly 130 per cent from a year earlier. Earnings per share stood at 3.41 sen. Quarterly revenue rose 71 per cent over the same period.

The company attributed the improvement to higher sales and a greater contribution from higher-value products. Increased business volume also helped it absorb operating costs more effectively. Demand rose for equipment used in both front-end and back-end semiconductor production. The results were further supported by the continued delivery of previously secured front-end semiconductor projects.

UWC said its operations were expanding into more complex contract manufacturing. Alongside individual components, the company is supplying modules, sub-systems and integrated assemblies. This shift towards higher-precision work contributed to its improved performance. New product introductions and the gradual increase in work on recently secured projects are also supporting its outlook.

For the full financial year ended July 31, 2026, net profit increased 132 per cent to RM93.84 million. Annual earnings per share were 8.51 sen, while revenue rose 54 per cent to RM594.89 million. UWC remained cautiously optimistic about business prospects, citing continued semiconductor demand and the progress of its current projects.
