LIMA 2027: Sustainable Vision Across Sea, Sky and Space

20–24 April 2027 | Langkawi, Malaysia

The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) returns from 20 to 24 April 2027, bringing together the global maritime, aerospace and defence communities on the island of Langkawi, Malaysia.

As one of the region’s established platforms for industry engagement, government-to-government dialogue, technology showcase and strategic collaboration, LIMA 2027 is set to build upon its legacy while looking decisively towards the future.

Under the theme “Sustainable Vision Across Sea, Sky and Space,” LIMA 2027 reflects the rapidly evolving environment in which the maritime, aerospace and defence sectors operate. Sustainability, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, drones, advanced technologies and the growing importance of the space domain are reshaping industries around the world.

LIMA 2027 aims to provide a platform where these developments can be explored not only through exhibitions and displays, but also through meaningful conversations, partnerships, industry programmes and opportunities for collaboration.

The five-day exhibition will welcome government representatives, military leadership, international delegations, industry decision-makers, manufacturers, technology providers, investors, academia and visitors from Malaysia and around the world.

The first three days will be dedicated to Trade Days, providing a focused environment for professional networking, meetings, conferences, business matching and industry engagement. The final two days will open to the public, giving a wider audience the opportunity to experience the scale, technology and excitement of the maritime and aerospace industries.

More Than an Exhibition

LIMA has long been recognised for bringing the maritime and aerospace sectors together within a single international event. For 2027, the exhibition seeks to further strengthen its role as a platform where business, policy, technology, innovation and future talent intersect.

Beyond static displays, LIMA 2027 will place strong emphasis on conferences, industry discussions, business matching and strategic engagements. These platforms will allow stakeholders to exchange perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing their respective industries while creating pathways for collaboration between Malaysian and international organisations.

The evolving technology landscape will also form an important part of the LIMA 2027 conversation. Areas including artificial intelligence, unmanned and autonomous systems, drones, digital technologies, simulation and emerging aerospace capabilities are increasingly influencing both commercial and defence applications.

By bringing these conversations into the wider LIMA ecosystem, the exhibition provides an environment where established industry expertise can meet new ideas and technologies.

The inclusion of space within the 2027 theme further reflects the expanding boundaries of the aerospace sector. As space technologies become increasingly relevant to communications, navigation, observation, security and economic development, the sector presents new possibilities for cooperation, investment and technological advancement.

Connecting Industry, Innovation and the Next Generation

An important direction for LIMA 2027 is creating stronger connections between established industries and the next generation. Alongside its core exhibition activities, programmes are being developed to encourage innovation, talent development, industry participation and new approaches to engagement.

Aero FLYTE Solve-X @ LIMA 2027 is a youth aerospace innovation programme that connects students, academics and industry practitioners to develop practical solutions for real industry challenges. Built around the principle “Real Industry Problems. Real Solutions. Real Impact.”, the programme is designed to bridge academic innovation with the needs of the aviation and aerospace sectors.

The Industrial Competition & Career Festival provides a platform focused on connecting emerging talent with industry through competitions, career engagement and professional exposure. It aims to strengthen interaction between young participants and organisations within the maritime, aerospace and related industries while encouraging greater awareness of future career opportunities.

AeroEsport GT introduces another dimension to youth engagement by combining aviation, simulation, technology and esports in an interactive competition environment. The programme offers a contemporary way to engage younger audiences with aviation and digital technology while creating greater interest in the wider aerospace ecosystem.

Together, these programmes support a broader ambition for LIMA 2027: to showcase not only the technologies and capabilities shaping maritime and aerospace industries today, but also the talent, ideas and innovation that will drive their future.

Strengthening Industry Connections

At the heart of LIMA is the opportunity to connect.

The exhibition provides an international platform for governments, armed forces, industry leaders, manufacturers, technology companies, academia and other stakeholders to establish new relationships and strengthen existing ones.

For participating organisations, LIMA 2027 provides opportunities to present capabilities, engage decision-makers, exchange industry knowledge and explore potential commercial and strategic partnerships. At the same time, international participation creates opportunities for Malaysian organisations to engage a wider global network and for international companies to explore Malaysia and the region as potential markets and partners.

This industry-focused direction is further strengthened through LIMA 2027’s strategic partnerships with NAICO Malaysia, the Coalition of Defence Industry Malaysia (CDIM), and the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association (MAIA). Together, these strategic partners support stronger engagement across Malaysia’s aerospace, defence and industrial ecosystem while reinforcing LIMA 2027’s role as a platform for industry development, collaboration and long-term growth.

Through this combination of international participation, strategic partnerships and domestic industry development, LIMA 2027 seeks to create an environment where conversations can move beyond introductions towards meaningful collaboration.

Towards LIMA 2027

As the maritime, aerospace and defence sectors navigate rapid technological advancement and increasingly complex global challenges, platforms that encourage cooperation, innovation and knowledge exchange continue to play an important role.

LIMA 2027 will bring these conversations together in Langkawi under one forward-looking vision: across sea, sky and space.

From 20 to 24 April 2027, Langkawi will once again become a meeting point for the global maritime and aerospace community as LIMA 2027 opens its doors to new ideas, new technologies, new talent and new opportunities for collaboration.
