RM560 Million Investment to Strengthen Green Energy Supply Chains

As the world’s largest producer of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) materials, supplying around 30% of global demand, Hunan Yuneng will invest RM560 million to develop a new facility within Phase 1 of SPD Tech Valley, Senawang, Negeri Sembilan. The plant will be dedicated primarily to producing lithium battery cathode materials and will have an estimated annual production capacity of 90,000 tons. Completion is expected within 15 months.

This marks Hunan Yuneng’s first major venture in Malaysia, and the project is expected to create over 200 new job opportunities. The investment demonstrates Hunan Yuneng’s longterm commitment to Malaysia’s economic growth while supporting global capacity expansion, clean energy supply chains, and regional manufacturing competitiveness.

YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Aminuddin bin Harun remarked:

“This project is a clear manifestation of the aspirations of Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0, which aims to strengthen Negeri Sembilan’s role as a regional hub for innovation and technology, as well as a prime investment destination in Malaysia.”

Advancing International Partnerships and ESG Excellence
