MSU Shines Globally with Strong International Outlook in THE World University Ranking 2026

SHAH ALAM, 10 October – Management and Science University (MSU) continue to strengthen its position among the world’s top higher education institutions, climbing 200 places to rank within the 601–800 band globally in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026. It’s demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence, highlighting its strong performance on the worldwide stage.

This achievement is based on evaluations of 2,191 institutions across 115 countries and territories, representing an increase from the 2,092 institutions assessed in the THE World University Rankings 2025.

MSU’s impressive rise in THE WUR 2026 aligns with its strong performance in the THE Impact Rankings 2025, where the university was listed in the 101–200 band globally.

The UK-based THE World University Rankings are among the most globally respected and rigorous assessments of institutional excellence, evaluating universities worldwide across five key pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook.

For MSU, this marks its best-ever performance, climbing from the 801–1,000 band in the 2025 edition of the rankings, propelled by a strong performance in the International Outlook pillar, where it secured the 91st position globally.

The institution’s outstanding International Outlook also reflects the effectiveness of its internationalisation strategy. Through comprehensive global initiatives, MSU has forged strategic partnerships with more than 500 universities and institutions worldwide, creating pathways for diverse forms of international mobility — including student and staff exchanges (inbound and outbound), industrial training, and collaborative research.

To date, MSU’s international student community represents 75 countries, including the United Kingdom, Türkiye, China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Brunei, the Maldives, Oman, France, Yemen, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan, Botswana, India, Comoros, Iran, Libya, and others.

Among the global mobility programmes offered at MSU are the Global Mobility Programme (GMP), Global Leadership Programme (GLP), and Global Internship Programme (GIP) — all supported by MSU Foundation’s Scholarship for Mobility and International Learning Experiences (SMILE).

MSU has also strengthened its global brand presence through international campuses in Bangalore (India), Colombo (Sri Lanka), and Jakarta (Indonesia). These initiatives not only expand cross-border access to quality education but also reinforce MSU’s reputation as a global university.

Furthermore, MSU integrates its industry talent embedded ecosystem within its internationalisation agenda through strategic collaborations with more than 3,000 industry partners locally and abroad. This enables MSU students to gain real-world global exposure, preparing them for the international job market and meeting the needs of a dynamic global industry.

Beyond smart partnerships and internationalisation, MSU’s mission to empower human capital development also emphasises employability, entrepreneurship, community engagement, and is supported by research, lifelong learning, and flexible education initiatives.

In line with Malaysia’s aspiration to become a regional hub for international education, MSU remains committed to building an inclusive, innovative, and high-impact global network — realising its vision of producing world-class graduates who are capable of becoming leaders on the global stage.
